It seems, not too many of today youth have experienced a slower paced life. Leisure time is sitting in front of either a game console or the computer. Everyone wants to play the latest CGI games, with all the bells and whistles, the flashier the better. Are the games of yesteryear now obsolete? Are they being assassinated by today advancing technology?

Most kids today have not experienced camping out by a lake, playing board games by the campfire. In addition, in most cases even the parents are ignorant of the ways

Technology has driven the last several decades to a frenzied digital life style. Everything is hightech. Paper and pen are behind the times, and the palm held devices more convenient. The television christian louboutin studded boots is no longer functional. Now it is wide screen and plasma, high definition television or HDTV for short. There is no need for the roadside telephone booth when you have your cell phone in your pocket. So many advancements, the schools cannot keep up with them. You can now find computers and HDTV in all the classrooms, even the teacher has the class plan on their hand held device.

There is still a place for board games. They represented a time of family or social gathering. You could talk over a game. How was your day? Did you do anything interesting today? Do you have a boyfriend or girlfriend? It was a time of sharing and getting to know each other. Life is to swift for that now, and that is sad? Families no longer know each other. In addition, what they know is what they observe on Face Book, My Space or any number of social networking sites.

Most likely board games will have to reinvent themselves as some already have. An example is Monopoly. The advantage of online gaming is that now even if miles separate you, family members can play the traditional games on a live screen. In addition, to make it even more enjoyable, little boxes with everyone Skyping, so you can even see them as they play.

No the board game has not been assassinated rather it is undergoing a slow reformation. The times of sitting around the kitchen table playing Scrabble and fighting over whether or not a word is misspelled will become outdated. That is not as distressing as I might imagine. Technology is changing our world. The best advice is to go with the flow.

As long as video games require power, demand some type of hardware (device) and are typically more complex to learn, or master; board games will remain viable www.christianlouboutinmart.org/christian-louboutin-boots2 as sources of entertainment.

Playing games has been a part of just about every culture and have evolved for many reasons. Board games require no electricity and usually come with all the playing pieces neededso there is no additional equipment required to play the game. For very traditional games like checkers, chess and tic tac toe; boards and game pieces can even be fashioned from nontraditional materials that are commonly available when the actual board or game pieces are not available. So the more easily games can be constructed and learned to play well, the more people will likely participate in those games.

Perhaps just as importantly, board games require that the players be in close proximity to one another and while the game is played, each player can read the opponent's body language or "tells" that might give away a player's strategies. Digital games that offer camera views of the various players are starting to provide the ability to read body languagebut only if all the players have, and use, their computer cameras.

Requiring power may not seem like a big deal to many digital game playersuntil it's not available. Secondarily, having Internet access to play massive multiplayer online games, or MMOs, is as necessary for players of games like League of Legends and World of Warcraft as power. It is true that many people take these resources for granted, but the truth is, electricity and Internet access is not a given for everyone. Board games are much less expensive to acquire and can be just as much fun as their digital counterparts.

Finally, board games are often simpler to learn to play giving players of a wider range of age ranges and skill levels the opportunity to play. Less complex games have the ability to connect generations of players; a grandfather and grandson or an aunt and a niece. By connecting generations of people, board games will remain popular since board games provide the chance for a range of people and age ranges to compete on a level playing fielda board. This christian louboutin grey suede boots opportunity for friendly competition may not occur in any other situation.

While there is no doubt that the digital gaming, louboutin grey suede boots or video gaming, world is growing exponentially; there will be a place for board games for may years to come.
